The introduction of My Magic+ and the My Disney Experience app was the end of park touring as we previously knew it. No more running around the entire park to collect fast passes at rope drop and keeping your fingers crossed that you get the time you want. Now we can sign up for 3 fast passes 60 days in advance if you stay on Disney property and 30 days in advance for off property guests. But once you use those 3 you now jump on your app to sign up for a 4th. We also use our smartphones to check on our dining reservations, Photopass photos show up almost right after they are taken and the app will now give you exact walking/transportation directions to anywhere on property. But having the app open on your phone will drain the battery like no other app I have used. For the past couple years I have been hauling around a huge external battery pack to the parks. It was about $30 on Amazon. One night I forgot to charge the battery pack and my phone battery died in the parks the next day. What are my fast passes? What time are my dining reservations? How can I take photos of my kids!?! The drama! Enter the FuelRod battery exchange kiosk. You purchase the battery on site with a major credit card, it comes with all the cords you need for any Apple or Android smartphone or tablet. Simply plug it in, use it and then return it to the kiosk for a fully charged battery! Genius! They are lightweight and not much larger than a AA battery. Several Ears of Experience agents and I enjoyed using this new feature in the parks this weekend and I am a huge fan. Check out our little how to video.
